Dragonfly or damselfly? I think damselflies are smaller. This here was larger and it was kind enough to allow me to take its photo. There was a light sprinkle that day. The sun was barely out, and the ground was wet. This lovely animal was perched on our grape vine. I guess he wanted some sunlight, like me, as it has been quite cool for the past couple of days. Its bright red color stood out from among the green. It could've been mistaken for a flower at first glance. I find these animals to be so pretty and dainty. There was even a time when I planned on building a small pond out back to attract them and help them increase in number. But I have dogs, and they can be quite naughty and destructive. Anyway, dragonflies, damselflies, and ladybugs are among my favorites in the garden. I'm hoping to see more of them soon. 💮❣️
