My orange amaryllis is blooming again. This is also known as hippeastrum. Each bulb only blooms once a year, but there are things you can do to encourage it to bloom again, like cutting the flower stalk before it wilts or giving it fertilizer. For me, i just leave them alone to bloom at their own time. This variety only has 3 flowers in its stalk, while some varieties can have more than that. I'm afraid that the blooms won't last long as we've been having rain for the past few days. Every day is gloomy, and it kinda makes me sad. This actually reminds me of SAD or seasonal affective disorder. It is when the weather/climate affects our mood or emotions. People who live in places where the sun doesn't shine as much, where it's rainy, snowy, or foggy for prolonged periods of time, do get emotionally affected. Most feel depressed and less lively. That's why we need the sun to shine on us. Not only does it encourage vitamin D production, but it also helps in giving us a more positive outlook. I want to see you, Mr. Sun 🌞
