Rijeka
**Rijeka is the administrative and cultural centre of the Primorje-Gorski kotar County and the third largest city in Croatia with regard to the number of inhabitants. The city is situated along the course of Rječina River and nearby numerous streams. It lies on abundant sources and confluences. Like numerous cities in the world, Rijeka carries the symbol of water in its name. Is there anyone who still doesn’t know about our Carolina?!” And if you are lucky, you will hear the story about a lady from Rijeka whose character and actions have remained engraved in the memory of her fellow townspeople until today, although she lived in the 19th century.

Znate li onu pjesmu: neki se rode kraj vode plavetne, život im surov ritam nametne... :)
Riječani koji su rođeni 1913. i koji su doživjeli 1991. promijenili su 6 država: Austro-Ugarsku, Slobodnu Državu Rijeka, Kraljevinu Italiju, Treći Reich, DF/FNR/SFR Jugoslaviju, Republiku Hrvatsku te jednu regenciju (Reggenza Italiana del Carnaro). U 170 godina grad je preživio 12 različitih režima!
