During the Sant'Efisio day the first part of the loooooong procession is entrusted to oxen-drawn wagons, named. "is traccas" . This is so since the 17th century, before the automotive era, when people from all the part of Sardinia reached Cagliari exactly with the carrots you see in the pictures. About oxen, they are big and strong peaceful animals, you can touch and caress them and they don't move a muscle! Everyone of them has a name and they are used nowadays only for this day: a single day of job during a whole year!

Majestic creature. 😍 I think I'd be scared to touch them though. I was scared to touch a horse and these are even more muscular. Wow.
