Verse of the day

But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. Psalms 59:16 NIV What a great verse to ponder before I bid good night. My daughter beside me is already sleeping soundly while I am still wide awake thinking of what to share tonight. Going back to the verse, it is very timely because my aunt just died the other day and it is so nice to see and talk to my cousins in a happy state even during their mom's wake. I remember the day when they called us to notify that their mom is gone without any of them noticing, AJ said that her mom did not want them to worry anymore and see her battling her life just to revive that's why she left peacefully. And what I love about our conversation was that he said, Mama is gone Ate (elder sister), it's good because we have our enough time to tell everything that we want to tell her, like asking for forgiveness and showing how much we love and care for her. Everyone in our family have shown that we love Mama so much and that makes her leave us so at peace. I'm sure Ate she is happy now with Daddy. It's sad and it hurts but we don't want to see Mama suffer anymore. Just like my cousin, we have our own troubles and challenges and we have our ways of coping and finding ways to get out of them. Some find that drinking beer, hanging out with friend, stress eating or shopping is a great escape. But know that these are all temporary, they will just give you headache and empty pockets. You are not really solving anything, no matter how hard you try to escape it will still haunt you unless you face it and take actions. Another story is a friend of mine. He was battling with depression for almost a month. He did not come to work and did not even bother to notify us. Until one day her sister called me and said about her brother's situation. I reported it to our boss and we decided to call him and asked him to report to the office so we could talk about his problem and that we could defend him just in case HR people will question his attendance. The next day, he and her sister arrived at the office. He was too thin, his face really looks so pale, and un-energetic or lifeless. His voice was too small that we can't even hardly hear his voice. Far from the jolly, articulate and witty that he is. Then our boss said, go home take care of yourself, leave all your burdens here and get your life back. This is not you, go back to your old self and after 1-week report to the office. After a week, he came back to the office, still thin but not as un-energetic and lifeless as before. He told us that he was even invited by her friend to join Sunday service. Today's verse reminds us to make it a daily habit to rejoice God's name and glory as early as morning. If we start with this habit, we can never go wrong. There is no big or small problem if we have God in our hearts and in our life. He will give us enough strength, courage, wisdom and knowledge to combat every troubles that will come along. We should listen to Him all the time, report to Him everything including your plans and your actions. He can be our Consultant, our Mentor and our Coach. Thanks for reading and God bless us all.
