Faith healer or my Faith?
Do you believe in faith healer or quack doctor or in the power of prayer? March last year, a certain skin disease hit me, it was very itchy. It looks like a prickly heat but they are bigger ones and they starts to build up in my finger nails both hand and feet. It was alarming because I could not sleep well during the night and so I immediately went to the derma to have it checked. After checking, the doctor said it was 'kurikong' or scabby lesions which I may have obtained somewhere like in the train, bus or anywhere. She prescribed 3 sets of cream, for morning and before bedtime. Believe me, derma products are really costly even if they are not branded. The doctor said these creams are nor available in the leading drugstores, only her clinic has it. And since I was already there and trusted that all these products would heal me so I bought all the set which is only good for a week. On the first 3 days, it went well. I slept soundly and did not feel any itch when I evening comes. But come the following day, there were new 'scabbies' grow in my arms and legs. So I stopped using all the products and see another doctor. I went to a public hospital and they just gave me another set of products. It does relieved the itchiness and help some of the skin disease to get dry but it does not stop from growing in my back, more on my legs, arms, fingers and palms. It looks really bad and I have to commend my husband for taking care of me and really took a lot of absences just to watch over me. After 3 weeks, still the growing does not stop so I thought of my former's boss mother; a faith healer. I called her and set an appointment to meet her. She immediately notify her mother and so the next day we went straight to Antipolo City. As soon as we arrived at their house, she put a piece of paper in my forehead and after she recite her rituals, she removed the paper and showed me an image of a girl that was quite visible. She said a girl who got angry with me for whatever reason was responsible. I felt scared because I could not think of anyone whom I might have argued with or the like. She gave me some medicine which when I applied to my skin was really really painful that I cannot help but cry. And she said, to help my skin disease get dry easily and quickly, I should boil leaves of guava and soak my skin with it. One Sunday morning after I went to the faith healer, a neighbor from the province came to process his papers going abroad. He is a very religious man and when he saw my situation he asked what happened and so I told him about it; the doctor and the faith healer. He said I should not trust faith healers because they are against God. Then he went to his appointment and so me and my husband again left at home. When he arrived home, he asked me if he can pray over me. I said yes without hesitation. He started praying and I could not explain the feeling when he lay his hands over my head. His voice became different and you could really feel every word that he says that I was crying the whole time he was saying his prayer for me. After that he said, I must believe that I am already healed and should not focus on my disease. I did as he said and since then I noticed that my skin continuously reviving and healing. No 'scabbies' were already growing and after a week my skin started to look better and then I can now go back to work. It was a great relief, it took me a month off from work because of that. Everything happens for a reason and every individual that we meet has a special part in our lives. It was not a coincidence that our neighbor at that time has an appointment, God lead him to our home to be an instrument of God's healing. I would not want to reminisce that moment in my life anymore but then I realized that it is also worth sharing. Never underestimate the power of prayer because if you believe in your heart that you are healed, God will definitely put His grace upon you. Nothing is impossible with God. Thanks for reading. Keep inspiring. Keep smiling.
