No man is an island

We can do so much being alone and sometimes we need someone or something to lean on and make us feel protected and secured. Keeping our problems to ourselves is suffocating. We cannot just say, self it's going to be okay and we can handle it but no, not all problems and goals are being achieved alone. We need a hand to help us, to lift us up and to help us carry the burden. When one of my officemate suffered from depression for a very personal reason, he attempted to get rid of his life. Walking on the street not knowing where to go and jump in one of the footbridge in EDSA. That serious that I cannot even imagine him being that down, haggard and super far from his jolly and positive aura. But for a certain reason, I think God used that old man in that footbridge begging for food with only a half-filled of water in a plastic bottle that made my friend realized that life is precious. That moment as if everything that he has accomplished; being an achiever in school, cum laude to be exact, just finished his master's degree and even vying for promotion and he realized that he has a loving family who is waiting for him to go home. He found himself crying in the middle of that footbridge, feeling sorry for what he attempted to do. Then he promised to regain his strength, his positive outlook and to continue fighting for his life and for his dreams. That no problem can ever defeat him. That night when he went home, he called me and said sorry. He did not report for work for almost a month and I was the one covering up for him when our boss asked why was he absent. Because I know he is doing well in his work, he delivers a very high standard report and I cannot just let him go. I told him to report to work and that we will talk and discuss to our boss his problems so he could defend him if ever the HR will find out his absences. Yes, sometimes God gave us the answers that we need in a very unexpected scenario. Leaving us stunned how He makes impossible possible, how He makes us realize that it's okay to be down, to cry and to take a break. Even without asking, He will solve our problems, He will lay down solutions and all we have to do is follow and be grateful. There is a reason why we meet each other, it may not be clear now but definitely we will soon find out. God saw how Adam felt when he was alone in the garden of Eden and so He created Eve. ....^•°...
