This is Lena

I just want to share a little fictional short story. It's not something exciting, it's quite frustrating and I am quite confused if it's worth sharing. But here it goes. *This is Lena, she was one of the employees included in the lay-off. Their company decided to call it off; no income was generated since the lockdown started. She received a pay for that however, s has no savings, she has a son and her husband cannot also go to work as he has an illness which is too risky from the virus. In short, their source of income totally stopped. Good thing their locals has been generous and their subsidy is continuous. However, of course there were other necessities that they need to buy. Lena's family is we can say above average; well-off. Some of her siblings are doing well in their own careers and her mother is also living a good life with her pension. It's just that, when it comes to money matters, they are not that generous or ready to share. As much as possible if there are other options they would use that before they will give support. Like they would want to see you beg on you knees before they extend their hand for help. They are aware of Lena's situation but just try to ignore. They regular send messages to show sympathy and empathy however, in times like this, any help will be much appreciated. The end.* I know it's getting frustrating so I need to stop from there. Maybe Lena was not the type of person who depends to other people especially with her family. Maybe if she has other ways, she will exhaust them all before actually seeking for help. Or maybe because of pride or ego or that's just her character. Sometimes I also have that kind of attitude but my family is very sensitive when it comes to someone's needs and you can't hide anything from them. There is that kind of instinct that out of nowhere either of us will ask you how you feel or how are you doing. We are raised to be sensitive, generous and helpful no matter how big or small. With the situation of Lena, when it's obvious that they have no one to run to, a family member should have initiated or volunteered to help and not wait for this couple to ask anymore.
