Reflective Essay

A friend of mine asked my sister to prepare an essay for her son's school project who is in Grade 7 right now. But since my sister is busy with office works, she passed the task to me which I cannot decline. And so I accept the challenge and need to finish it today. The instruction is like this: `Look around you, think of a plant, animal or even a non-living thing that you can relate yourself to. Write a reflective essay about your chosen material and why is it important for sustainable development.` Here is the essay I made: **Reflective Essay** *The world is facing a lot of challenges right now, environmental challenge to be exact. I want to emphasize our role as the new generation, on how can we help solve this on-going problem. We live near the beach, a very beautiful gift from mother nature. It does not only give us food to eat but of scenery that anyone could be proud of. That being said, I want to take an initiative to make my own advocacy to clean-up the coastal area in whatever way I can. What is bringing a plastic bag every time I visit the beach and pick whatever plastic bottles or containers I see around. That way, I cannot only help mother nature but also, I am hoping, that with this simple act I can influence at least one more individual to do the same. Who knows one day, I can see even the next generation continue this act and take care, nurture and protect this gift from God even more.* *Mother Theresa of Calcutta once said, 'Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water, it will make ripples throughout the entire pond.'* ....^•°... I hope the recipient of this essay would be happy and also take this advocacy into his heart and do this simple act too. Thanks for reading! Keep inspiring. Keep smiling. XOXO, bbghitte
