Le Corbusier, one of the architects considered among the pioneers of modern architecture, considered roofs as the fifth façade of a building, and this was established in his manifesto of the 5 points of modern architecture written in 1927. In the old town of Barcelona, we find the rehabilitation work of the Santa Caterina market, carried out by EMBT Arquitectos (Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue), in 2005. In this intervention, we found a roof that, despite not Being passable as Le Corbusier demanded in his manifesto, it becomes the fifth façade of Ciutat Vella, since its colorful ceramic mosaic, the work of the artist Toni Comella, breaks with the monotony of the city's traditional roofs.
