BTS: Perfect by Simple Plan

Behind The Song Pt. 2 Please listen while you're reading. Thankies ♥ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUi54JTgL5s `Hey, Dad, look at me` `Think back, and talk to me` `Did I grow up according to plan?` `And do you think I'm wasting my time` `Doing things I want to do?` `But it hurts when you disapproved all along` `And now I try hard to make it` `I just want to make you proud` `I'm never gonna be good enough for` `You can't pretend that I'm alright` `And you can't change me` Life, at times, doesn't flow smoothly. We can't just make everyone to back us up with what we are aiming for. We can't just always hope that the people we expect to support us with the dream we want to chase will. `'Cause we lost it all` `Nothin' lasts forever` `I'm sorry I can't be perfect` `Now it's just too late` `And we can't go back` `I'm sorry I can't be perfect` In connection, Simple Plan's drummer **Chuck Comeau's** parents weren't supportive of his career choice, so he and lead singer **Pierre Bouvier** wrote the song Perfect to prove to his parents that he made it, and to say sorry that's his imperfect. `I try not to think` `About the pain I feel inside` `Did you know you used to be my hero?` `All the days you spent with me` `Now seem so far away` `And it feels like you don't care any more` Bassist and vocalist backing **David Desrosiers** have said that this song was about him before an acoustic version of the song was released. Comeau also said this song is about his brother who supports him in his career as a musician. `Nothing's gonna change the things that you said` `And nothing's gonna make this right again` `Please don't turn your back` `I can't believe it's hard just to talk to you` `But you don't understand` In the music video, the band is performing on a house's roof. It shows how teens try to alleviate this burden by getting it out and eventually realizing that they can no longer contain their pain.
