There are a lot of aspects to electronic peer-to-peer cash that seem like a scam. It has to do with money and finance, it is online, there was a lot of screechy dealings in the early days and all this sort of stuff. If you are not a very forward thinking and sort of freedom minded person that believes in local free markets, it is very easy to just dismiss it. And so as a result what you have is a process where the earliest people who could think the furthest ahead and extrapolate the trend from literally just Laslo buying that pizza. That was the key moment where a transaction was made. As soon as that happened it became a race as to who could understand that it would go from that to spreading around the whole globe. And so then all those early people where piling in. Then from there you have as each new person comes on board that it is a self fulfilling prophecy where they make it more likely that it will become that way. So people are on a bell curve in terms of how quickly they gonna clue in. That "Wait, this is actually gonna happen." And there is always more people in that next segment, because the previous people jumped on board and that makes it more convincing [and convenient] to the next group. [..] In fifty years there is gonna be a lot of people who have a tough time explaining to their kids or grand kids where their kids said, "Granddad, why didn't you buy electronic peer-to-peer cash?"
