#Noise.Cash behind the scenes #behindthescenes You may have noticed that I'm #busy these days - for not making a lot of noise here. However, I come here every other day and at least leave a #reply here and there. Not to speak of all the #timeless posts you find in my profile. Image 1: Then today I found another of those Noise.Cash #surprises in my #notifications for a long, long time: Noise doing an #experiment. The first picture shows a composition of the notification and the results on my end. I would not have done it for the money, yet I loved all those experiments Noise.Cash has done in the past, so there was no question in declining the #offer. Image 2: I was engaged in the experiment as a #participant for three quarters of an hour. Not easy #money. LOL The second picture shows what I found as #work in front of me. There were to follow 49 more such views. The #job was to #evaluate postings. In the first #example, I found that the text was #stolen from one website and the image from another. It wasn't even a picture of the original text. Be that as it may, Noise.Cash made it simple for me to get the job done by offering links with prepared searches. One click searches for the text and another for the image. It's less about whether I like one post or another, and much more about whether #plagiarism is being used just to milk the Noise #Fund. Image 3: What I got in front of my eyes was mostly bad or worse than bad. I demand more money for this #agony! LOL By the time I was about halfway through, I had begun to suspect that Noise.Cash wasn't showing me complete posts, but only #excerpts. Some text even showed with dots like ... There I was not sure if that was attached to abbreviated texts. As you will see in a moment, it was indeed the case that posts were #abbreviated. In the third image you can see an example of how this made it hard to actually rate a post. If it didn't look like cheap plagiarism to me, I didn't judge it as harshly as I did with posts that were very clearly just copied together, even though what I saw was bad. Image 4: Of all the things I was presented with, there was one post that stood out to me in a positive way. This was probably also because I had never seen a #pomelo tree before. I even zoomed in on the image I was shown to look for the #fruit. LOL I rated the post as the only one clearly above the middle and was curious if I would find it later when I had done the work. Image 5: And indeed! The original article I found was even much better than I expected. So it became clear to me what I had been presented before - and also to what extent paragraphs for my ratings were unfortunately suppressed and therefore certainly other contributions appeared worse at first glance than they actually were. To look for plagiarism, of course, it was enough even so. Well then, thank you for the #experiment. I'm curious to see what else we can learn from behind the scenes and how the experiment will develop. I'll be happy to participate again in another round.
