Earlier I boarded a cab on my way home after doing some chores. At first, it was just a normal ride for me when suddenly I felt that the cab driver was a bit downhearted. I ask him what is wrong to which he replied that he’s a bit disheartened because it would be impossible for him to reach his daily quota due to the scarcity of passengers who are willing to use a cab as a means of transport. Noteworthy is the fact that at this moment, a stricter quarantine measures have been implemented in my locality which meant that only a handful of persons are permitted to go outside their residence. Upon arriving at my destination, I paid the amount indicated in the taxi meter and gave the driver a little extra. Much to my surprise, I saw tears run down his face while he was profusely saying thank you. I never thought that a little act of kindness to a person in need can fill my heart with joy.
