The Sea of Clouds My last article was about hiking so I decided to feature another article about nature. Itogon, Benquet has many to offer when it comes to hiking but for me the most famous hikes is Mt Ulap or Mt. Cloud. It only takes 30 minutes from Baguio City, Philippines to reach the jump-off point.
I went to Mt. Ulap to personally experience the beauty and the famous mountain for new hikers (been there 3times, and its so beautiful). First part was the continuous trail going up passing the rows of pines trees. After an hour, you will find yourself on the top and saw the view of Baguio City and Philex Mines. The favourite spot of most or new hikers is just to have a picture in Gungal Rock and I’m happy I made it.
After 2 or 3 hours of hike up and down we reach the peak of Mt. Ulap. And I must say it’s worth it. Most of the hikers decided to have an overnight camping to see the beautiful sunrise but for us day hiker we can only imagine it because we are on a daytour. Witness the majestic sunrise and sunset and even the sea of cloud.
Try it for yourself to experience the stunning mountain views, fresh air, a sea of clouds and beautiful spot for your IG memories or even for your FB.

Hi Alice, Is there records, who did gave the name for Mt. Ulap? I found the place very interesting, based on photos. But looks like lightning may strike you, when cloudy. Hahahha Looks really good for newbie hikers. Thanks.
As per the tour guide, it was name Mt. Ulap because the mountain was covered by the clouds. Yes its very interesting so you must try it after the lockdown and keep safe.
