Well, it's better than not giving thanks at all. A lot of people nowadays tend to forget thanking the one up there for the many things He has given to us. His love will always be with us, even if we sometimes forget about Him.
This is really how people are, isn't it? We only really remember god when we are sad and have a hard time. We forget god when we are happy, and get the things we want. Because we enjoy it so much.
