My unforgettable experience today Nov. 15, 2022 It's my younger sister's birthday today, Nov. 15. And she and her son were going to town proper to buy food for the celebration. I was outside the house, in the dirty kitchen , cooking our breakfast when her son came to me and asked my permission to use our comfort room, for at that time my younger sister was taking a bath. I permitted him. After using the comfort room he took a pail of water in the kitchen where our artesian well is, to use to pour in the toilet bowl. Maybe he didn't open the big red drum in the comfort room to get some water. He just only saw the empty pails that we do not actually put on water for stock because it has no cover to get rid of mosquitoes We just put on water on it when it will be used at once. Minutes later when my sister was ready and her husband, to drive their tricycle , they went ahead to travel. When I finished cooking I entered the house to tell my son that the good was already ready. I have the cooked food in my hand when I go near his room. Then I turned back to place it on the table. As I step back , I stepped on the wet floor. I was barefooted then, which I did not used to do. I did not mind to put on my slippers, as I entered the house. Since the flooring of our house is tiled and I was barefooted I slipped and was out of balance. I fell on the floor and all the foods on the plate fell on the floor. I called out my son , telling I slipped and fell . He rushed out of his room and saw me picking up all the foods on the floor. My focus actually was on the food and not on myself . When I gathered up all the food , I felt a little pain on my left knee, but I can still walk. I even reheated the foods that fell on the floor, but still a little pain of my knee is felt . I was wondering how the floor became wet. Then I remembered may be my nephew who brought a pail of water on the comfort room , might have spilled some of it on the floor unnoticed so it was not wiped out. I was just thankful to God, that I did not fell flat on the floor seriously or bumped my head on the floor or on drawers at the side of the wall on the pathway. I felt God's protection to me in that incident of slipping and falling. As far as I can remember, it is my first time to experienced it, since the time that we stayed in the house. So with this experience I will be more cautious now. I need not to be barefooted , but have slippers put on , that just in case I stepped on something wet on the floor , my slippers still have the good gripped on the floor that I will not slip. Tiles are really not safe when it is wet. And I knew it, that is why when I bring a pail of water in comfort room and some spilled on the floor I wiped it at once with dry rags. It should be always wiped out with dry rags immediately , to avoid untoward accidents . I just hope that each one of us should be aware of our safety daily in our own house . That's the moral lesson I learned today.
