My father in law was in hospital for sometime. I took turns with my wife to look after her mother when she went to visit him. I had to go for biopsy earlier this week to check for prostate cancer. Hopefully, everything turns out OK. That's all for now.

Last indoor pickleball session of 2025 was at Toa Payoh Central Community Club. I played only two games in a one hour. I was there but happy to see the familiar faces.
On the way home, saw the the rice stall had closed. I guess a new stall is coming.
Had a quick simple char siew rice for lunch before going to the inlaws place.
Last outdoor pickleball session of 2025 was at SRC. Also happy to see familiar faces but more happy to lose count of The number of games I played.
Plus the weather was nice to us.
We got 100 plus too. Cheers! Happy New Year!
Some friends who were not playing because they were joining the New Year Eve countdown party came down to see us so we had to take a picture.

Going to ITE East College recently to attend a course. Arrived there after about an hour of bus rides changing bus in between.
Looked quiet as I walked in. Found out later that it was not term time. So it was good.
Saw a large covered open space as I looked for the Tech Block I was going to.
Found the Tech Block.
Seemed like there was another entrance from the road on the other side.
Took the lift to go up to 5th floor.
Turned right.
Looked back and down and saw the roof over the open space I passed by was a nice area on the 2nd floor.
Found the classroom.
But first a trip to the toilet.
Found a vending machine and water dispenser after coming out.
Took another photo outside as I walked to the classroom.
Entered through the glass door.
Go passed the wall.
Then entered the classroom.
More than half the people were already there.
Happy to be able to play with setting up of different security cameras.

最近去ITE东区学院上课。坐了大约一个小时的公车，中途换一次车，终于到了。
走进去的时候感觉很安静。后来才知道不是学期期间，这很好。
我寻找要去的科技楼时，看到一个很大的有顶棚的开放空间。
找到了科技楼。
看起来对面还有另一个从马路的入口。
乘电梯上到5楼。
回头往下看，发现我刚才经过的开放空间上方的屋顶是在2楼，还是个很不错的区域。
找到了教室。
不过先去了趟洗手间。
出来后发现有自动售货机和饮水机。
走向教室的路上，在外面又拍了一张照片。
穿过玻璃门。

然后进入教室。

Was at at Changi City Point a few Sundays ago. People were playing with "snow" outside.
There were more people than I expected and and Coach store I hadn't seen there before was something I didn't expect.
Looking for place for dinner and decided to go to Great Nanyang
Quite crowded inside but still not fully occupied.
Their old style decoration is pretty cool.
Iced coffee for the lady and home brewed bread barley for me.
Chicken Berempah Leg Nasi Lemak Kukus was quite good.
Share a set of three mini bolo buns. Paid about 26 bucks in total for the dinner.
Aftr dinner, went to the supermarket nearby to get some stuff before heading home.

Went to a new coffee shop looking for late lunch.
It's not a new place but a new operator took over and this opened after renovation.
Checked out the stores they had.
Then decided to get fried hokkien prawn noodle.
Passed the nasi lemak stall first first.
That was at a corner.
Paid $12 for two plates of noodle.
They gave two free coffee.
Picked up the coffee and started drinking.
The pager buzzed and I collected the noodle. The one with squid was for the lady. Overall, the taste was okay but I felt very thirsty after eating.

It's not officially reopened but quite a number of food stalls started to do business.
Looks like there's a new chicken rice stall.
Not a lot had changed inside. Looked around at some of the stalls that were opened. Then decided to go get wanton noodle. I must be one of the first few customers that. Happy enough with the $4 wanton noodle.

经过两个月的装修，我去大巴窑8巷的小贩中心逛了一圈。

Out to catch the train to play Merlion Pickleball League on Saturday morning. A mynah was lost in the boarding platform.
So I was going to Jurong Play Ground and saw these pandas and I decided to make them come alive - created using Meta AI.
I reached Jurong Play Ground just before 8.30am
Passed by the rows of vending machines.
Then reached the pickleball courts.
They had set up to stream matches on courts 1 and 3.
Played 3 matches and all lost at score of 21-15. So no trophy for us but I did get the team t-shirt they were selling for $20.
They were setting up and this sponsor wasn't there when I arrived in the morning but I saw it as I left.
Went to to Singapore Recreation Club for late lunch. It was raining heavily by then so I decided to have a mutton soup.
I wasn't planning on playing pickleball at the club but went out to look and saw the rain had stopped and the groundsman was doing a blow job with the big ass fan.
The courts all dried up later and I played two games just because an old friend was there.

周六早上出门赶搭地铁去参加鱼尾狮匹克球联赛。一只八哥走失在了月台上。
我正要去裕廊游乐场，看到这些熊猫，于是决定使用 Meta AI让它们“活”起来。

I bought one of the basic one. Paid $4.75 for it with the SAFRA member discount.
It wasn't very crowded inside.
I was satisfied enough with the noodle.

Last Saturday , I went out early in the morning to play Merleon Pickleball League.
After about an hour of train ride on the MRT and a 10 minutes walk, reached the Jurong Play Ground.

Finished the registration.
Got my goodie bag.
Looked for the court where I was supposed to play the matches.
People were warming up inside.

Met some friends who were playing in the tournament too.
Took a selfie as evidence.
There was another court operator.
Anyway, I lost all my 3 matches at this court though the scores improved along the way. I didn't have chance to play or practice for two days before because I was attending a course.
We finished all our matches and more people came. Watched some of the games my friend.
Looked around the place. Saw they have padel facilit there too.

在比赛开始前，和我的搭档拍了张照片，免得头发被弄乱。
遇到了一些也参加比赛的朋友。

还有另一个场地。
最后，虽然分数有所提高，但我在这个场地的三场比赛全部输了。之前两天我都没机会打球或练习，因为我在上课。
我们结束了所有比赛，又来了更多的人。我砍了朋友的几场比赛。
我四处看了看，发现这里也有板式网球场地。
还有五人制足球场。
尽头还有一片温室。
离开前，我看了几个朋友的比赛。所有比赛结束后，8支队伍的队长要从球员中挑选参加12月20日联赛的选手。虽然我输掉了全部三场比赛，但我还是被选中了，这意味着我仍然可以参加12月20日的比赛。耶！

最近买了一部新手机，已经设置好了基本功能，但还在等网上订购的屏幕保护膜和手机壳。周日花了点时间贴好了屏幕保护膜。
然后装上了手机壳。
晚上，我去新加坡国立大学协会肯特岗会所吃晚餐。虽然用餐的人很多，但还有不少空位。
我和太太分享六串鸡肉沙爹。
她点了一份福建炒虾面。
我点了一份怡保河粉。晚餐的量足够了，一共花了大约33元。

Going to Republic Polytechnic to attend course for the second day.
I guess I shouldn't be eating chicken rice today.
Passed by the food court and saw not many people queueing at the drinks stall. So I went to get a cup of coffee.
Passed by the library and it was too early for anyone to be in there.
Went to the classroom and enjoyed my coffee.
Was given the same kind of snacks for break time.
Went to the same food court for lunch. Like I said I guess I should not be eating chicken.
It could be wanton noodle which I mentioned in class but I didn't find any.
Went to the rice store to pick a few items. Got some pork, bitter gourd and kailan.
Then to a nearby table to beat my $4 lunch. A bit surprised that I had to pay $4 for rice with one meat and two vegetables in a school.
Still went for the 80 cents coffee after that.

第二天去共和理工学院上课。
看来今天不该吃鸡饭了。
路过食阁，看到饮料摊前没多少人排队，就去买了杯咖啡。
路过图书馆，时间太早，里面没人。
去教室喝咖啡。
课间休息时，老师发了同样的零食。
本来想吃云吞面，我在课上提过，但是没找到。
去菜饭摊位买了买了些猪肉、苦瓜和芥兰配白饭。
然后到附近的桌子吃饭，花了4块钱买了一顿午餐。有点惊讶，在学校里，一份米饭、一份肉和两份蔬菜就要4块钱。
吃完饭后，我又去买了杯八毛钱的咖啡。

Looking for late lunch at Wood Square on Sunday. Decided to go to Topkagi Ramen.
Not a big seating area inside.
Ordered two different ramen set. Collected some condiments while waiting.
After waiting for some time, our ramen came.
One plate of gyoza for set and one plate of chicken karaage for the another set.
Interestingly, they were lack of hot water so our green tea were served last.
Total cost $26.40.

周日想在Woods Square广场找个地方吃午餐，就决定去Takagi Ramen。
店里座位不多。
点了两份不同的拉面套餐。等餐的时候拿了一些调料。
等了一会儿，拉面终于上来了。
一份套餐里有一盘煎饺，另一份套餐里有一盘炸鸡块。
奇怪的是，他们热水不够，所以我们的绿茶是最后才上的。

Inside the Hainan Tan Clan Association building is a small food court.
I went inside
They have fishball noodles and Hainan curry rice.
I went to get a kaya butter toast set.
Not crowded inside.
$5 for the set is not cheap.
Needed to wait 3 minutes before working on the eggs.
Meanwhile, the kaya butter toast came. I had a piece of toast first.
Then worked on the eggs.

一天早上从新达城出来后，想找个地方吃早餐。
海南陈氏宗亲会大楼里有个小小的食阁。
我走了进去。
他们有鱼丸面和海南咖喱饭。
我点了一份咖椰牛油吐司套餐。
里面人不多。
等了3分钟才开始开蛋。
期间，咖椰牛油吐司上来了。我先吃了一片吐司。
然后才搞定蛋。

路过 Link Mall 时看到了圣诞装饰。
到达新达城后看到了皮卡丘。
中庭有汽车销售。
新达城还有更多宝可梦主题的圣诞装饰。
在会展中心参加了面向医疗保健行业的 Harvest Analytics Together 大会，但感觉没什么意思。

Spent the last Sunday going out with my wife a bit. First to the Buddhist temple at Bencoolen Street.
Went in to give thanks to the Goddess of Mercy.
Went to Bugis Plus mall and shop a bit. Saw the Li Ning store have pickleball stuff.
Then walked over to Bugis Juction mall. Found a pair of shorts at the Adidas store I like but didn't buy because I shall get 50% off next week.
The BHG department start had this mahjong design shirt. It should have been in red.
Passed by a store selling figurines.
Went to the food court.
Had a coffee.
And a popiah.
Then went to Challenger to look at some electronic items. They were giving out free popcorn but I didn't get any.
Then went home for a while and pick up my pickleball stuff.
Went to the club to had dinner before playing pickleball first. I was halfway through the hawthorn berry drink when my food came.
The black truffle oil fried rie with seafood was nice.
Cost about $23 for the dinner just for me.

上周日和老婆出去逛逛。先去了明古连街的观音堂佛祖庙。
进去拜了观音菩萨。
去了白沙浮娱乐广场逛了逛。看到李宁专卖店有匹克球用品。
然后去了白沙浮广场。在阿迪达斯专卖店看到一条很喜欢的短裤，但因为下周有五折优惠所以没买。
BHG百货的上衣有麻将图案的，可惜不是红色的。
路过一家公仔 的店。
喝了杯咖啡。
还吃了个薄饼。
然后去了Challenger看看电子产品。他们免费发爆米花，但我没拿。
回家待了一会儿，拿了我的匹克球装备。
先去俱乐部吃了晚饭，然后打匹克球。我刚喝了一半山楂果汁，菜就上来了。
黑松露油炒海鲜饭味道不错。
我一个人的晚餐花了大约23元。

Did some work on Sunday morning before going to the inlaws. My wife bought me prawn noodle for lunch.
My wife went out to do some shopping with the helper and bought dinner for me. Pork chop fried rice.
Went to Anderson Secondary School for pickleball games. Was early enough so I went to the shops nearby to check out what food they have. There was a Vietnamese food place at a corner.
There was a pizza place.
There was an Indian muslim place. Further at the other end, there was a coffeeshop that seemed to be closed for renovation.
Crossed the road to Anderson Secondary School.
Went to side gate to go to the indoor sports hall.
Climbed up and stopped at the 2nd floor to go to the toilet.
Then climbed to the hall on the 3rd floor.
It was nice that they added courts separators since I last came but quite a number of the the fans were still not working.
Two hours of fun pickleball games with lesser runaway balls to and from the next courts.

星期天早上在去岳父母家之前做了些事。太太给我买了虾面当午餐。
太太和佣人出去买东西，给我买了晚餐：猪排炒饭。
去安德逊中学打匹克球。时间还早，所以我去附近的商店看看有什么吃的。街角有一家越南餐厅。
还有一家披萨店。
还有一家印度清真餐厅。再往另一头走，有一家咖啡店没开，好像在装修。
过马路就到了安德逊中学。
爬上去，在二楼停了一下，去了趟洗手间。
然后爬到三楼的体育馆。
很高兴他们比我上次来的时候增加了球场隔板，但是很多风扇还是开动不了。
打了两个小时的匹克球乐趣无穷，球比较少飞去隔壁球场或从隔壁球场飞过来。

Finally, engaged a helper to help look after my parents in law. We got a small cupboard for her.
Then bought a bed via Lazada which was delivered about two weeks ago.
The guys set it up and my mother in law went to check it up after they left.
The bed fitted just nicely against the walls. Luckily we checked out the dimensions before placing the order.
In the evening, it was time to go pickleball at a rather new court which I booked for free and invited some of my friends to play. I went to Civil Service Club @ Tessensohn
Found the "Gold Mine" then exit left.
Walked towards the pickleball courts.
I love playing at this court. Only downside is they are outdoor.

终于，我们请了一位佣人来照顾我的岳父母。我们给她买了一个小衣柜。

找到了Gold Mine (“金矿”)，然后从左边的出口出来。
我喜欢在这个球场打球。唯一的缺点是它是露天的。

Went to HBD Hub on Saturday and Sunday to the Anti-Scam Road Show.
I was going to do some volunteer work to help spread the message on fighting scams.
Before that, I went Burger King for a quick lunch on Saturday.
Near the entrance, you get a bag and can get snacks like popcorn and nuts.
There were many booth by different government agencies and companies to help spread the message on how to prevent falling for scams.
There were celebrities coming for the road show. 68
Celebrities came on stage to spread their messages.
There were also performances.
Some people queued for opportunities to take photos with celebrities.
They had mascots to spread the anit-scam message.
After my work on Saturday, I wore the new cap with the ScamShield logo to go and play pickleball.
After few hours of pickleball, it was porridge for late night dinner.
Sunday afternoon, I saw a new cat in the inlaws neighbourhood when I brought lunch there.
Went to HDB Hub to do volunteer work again. Greeted by one of the mascot.
Still had time before I start, so went to get a haircut.
Still had time after the haircut, so went to get an ice cream.
The mascots also went on stage to take pictures with people.
Your could have coffee with a COP.
Later in the night, I saw the video when one celebrity came to talk to me and I took a screenshot of that. 😎

周六和周日去了建屋局中心参加反诈骗巡回宣传活动。
准备做一些志愿者工作，帮助宣传防范诈骗的知识。
在那之前，周六我去汉堡王吃了顿简单的午餐。
在入口附近，你可以拿到一个袋子，里面装着爆米花和坚果之类的零食。
现场有很多不同政府机构和公司的展位，帮助宣传如何避免上当受骗。
一些名人也来参加了巡回宣传活动。
还有一些表演。"

Went to a place the newly opened to allow pickleball. Anderson Secondary School is one of the latest that allow their ISH (Indoor Sports Hall) for public use of pickleball. This kind of school facility usually means you have to find some side gate to enter the building.
I went up the 2nd floor and saw there was a basket ball court below.
At the hall on the 3rd floor, they were setting up the net for the pickleball games for the first session at 3pm.
Some of the fans couldn't turned on.
We still had 2 hours of fun pickleball games.
The next day, Sunday. I bought simple lunch and brought the inlaws place.
Later, I drove to Ang Mo Kio again parking at the nearer carpark that was across the road from the entrance.
Crossed the road to find the entrance gate.
Went upstairs.
Stopped on the 2nd floor.
Went to the toilet because there was no toilet on the 3rd floor.
The Sunday session was to introduce the game to my ex-colleagues. I think they had fun.
It was the last two sessions of the day. So I helped to keep the net post after the games.

去了一家新开的匹克球场地。安德逊中学是最新一批允许公众使用室内体育馆（ISH）打匹克球的学校之一。这类学校的设施通常意味着你需要找到侧门才能进入大楼。
我上了二楼，发现楼下有个篮球场。
在三楼的体育馆里，他们正在为下午3点的第一场架设球网。
有些风扇打不开。
不过我们还是玩了两个小时的匹克球。
第二天，星期天。我买了简单的午餐，去岳父母家。
穿过马路找到入口。
上楼。
停在二楼。
因为三楼没有厕所，所以我去了趟洗手间。
周日的活动是为了向我的前同事们介绍这项运动。我想他们应该玩得挺开心。
那是当天的最后两场。所以打完球后，我帮忙收拾球网柱。

At the inlaws place earlier this week. We got someone to install an instant water heater in the bathroom. Final check and my wife was happy with it.
Grab a ride and went to Civil Service Club (CSC) at Tessensohn. The taxi passed by the Little India bus terminal which would be converted to be used for pickleball courts on Monday to Saturday. Good to have shelter.
Reached (CSC). Went to join a pickleball introductory clinic but my real objective was to try their new courts. Still a bit hot at 5pm.
Soon the sunset enough to shade all the courts.
The session started and I played a few pickleball games.
The lights turned on at around 7pm. Wasn't affected by the lights. Then again, I hadn't be lobbed.
Got to know some people and a few of us went to late dinner after that to an Indian Mulism place nearby.
I had a mee goreng and a ginger tea and was happy with the meal.

这周早些时候去了岳父母家。我们找人给浴室装了即热式热水器。最后检查了一下，太太很满意。
招车去了位于Tessensohn Road的公务员俱乐部 (CSC)。出租车经过了小印度巴士总站，那里周一到周六会改成匹克球场地。有个遮阴的地方真好。
到达了（CSC）。本来是去参加匹克球入门课程的，但我的真正目的是体验一下他们的新球场。下午5点还是有点热。
很快太阳就落山了，所有球场都笼罩在阴凉处。
课程开始了，我打了几局匹克球。
晚上七点左右灯亮了。灯光没影响到我。话说回来，没人给我高球。
我点了一份炒面和一杯姜茶，对这顿饭很满意。
