At the clinic for COVID-19 😣 At the Toa Payoh Polyclinic last Wednesday, I told them the result of my COVID-19 self test. They gave me a red sticker and register me without taking my temperature. Then asked me to walk straight in to the back. There were many people there with orange stickers. A busy nurse asked if I am seeing doctor. I nodded, she waved me in and I went in looking around and lost. Another nurse inside asked me why I come in. I had a red sticker and should wait outside for the doctor to go and see me. So I went back out, sat and waited. More people came and I could see many were getting swab test. In between, a doctor Gan called me and I told my story. He said he’d see me soon and arrange for two swab test; an Antigen Rapid Test and a PCR. He mentioned the ART self test is quite sensitive so my results are likely to be positive. Later, I was called into a tentage to see him. I asked for a biohazard waste disposal to discard the ART test kit I used which I brought from home. He arranged for for the tests and told me after that I have to go home and isolate myself and wait for MOH to call. He said they will likely put me on Home Recovery Program but because of my asthma, they may have different protocol. After a while one guy come and swab my nostrils four times, two on each side. As he shuffed the cotton bud in and rotate and roll, he seemingly enjoyed doing it and counted, “one, two, three, four, five.” He stopped counting at five each time and continue to about ten times. I think they psychologically want you to think it’s not so bad. Later, another lady let me sign a document to declare I was aware my ART test result is positive and failure to isolate myself is an offence and shuff me another piece of paper that is supposed to be an isolation notice but had not my name on it. I waited a while more before someone brought me my medications and a medical certificate for 3 days of medical leave. One of the usual one that allows you to be absent from the court of law. Apparently, they would bill me so I left away without paying after they tell me to go home and isolate myself and wait for someone from Ministry of Health to call. Then I walked about 1.5km home passing by many food stalls which I cannot stop to get lunch.
