Don’t blame me if it feels like I’m rushing through life. My parents aren’t getting any younger. Every time I see them in pain, I feel it too. When they struggle, a part of me breaks. So no, I don’t care if I seem too busy to hang out, or if I haven’t yet healed my inner child or heal old wounds. That can wait. I don’t mind being slow in other parts of life—because nothing compares to the happiness I feel when I see my parents smile. If I have anything to prove, it’s not to the world. It’s to them. I want them to know they didn’t fail. They raised someone kind. Someone good. And I just want them to see that before time takes away the chance.
