Regional differences time! I thought it would be interesting to compare the price for something that I think would be relatively common around the world and something we're all familiar with: If you were to convert from your native Fiat to USD (assuming your fiat isn't USD), how much would a 591ml bottle of soda cost where you live? I'll go first. Our sticker prices in Ontario are a bit deceiving, as you often end up getting smacked with taxes when you go to cash out. Generally when we account for prices, though, we talk about the sticker price before the taxes are added. In that case, I'd say on average you're looking at anywhere from around $1.58 - $1.98 USD. If you add on the tax, it'd be more like $1.79 - $2.24 USD.

we don't have sales tax here, but we do have a recycling deposit for the container: often on sale (because we like our sugar water in 'Mmerica), but normal price $1.79-1.99 + $0.10 recycling deposit.
We have soda in 240ml, 500ml, 1L, 1.5L and 2L. The 500ml generally cost about R12 to R15 depending on where you buy. Currently we are at R14.59 ZAR to 1USD.
We have soda in 240ml, 500ml, 1L, 1.5L and 2L here in South Africa. The 500ml generally cost about R12 to R15 depending on where you buy. Currently we are at R14.59 ZAR to 1USD. You can however pick up a 2L for anything from R20 to R32 ZAR depending on the “convenience” of the store.
