[EDIT] This is a #FullAlbumFriday post. It gets there eventually... sorry for the preamble ramble. What an absolutely insane week it's been for me. Non-stop emails about complaints and concerns regarding work stuff and neighbourhood stuff. If "Notification Stress" isn't already a coined term, it really should be. Like when you're trying to catch up on a flood of emails for one thing, and you start getting IMs and emails for another thing. You can see - and hear - the work piling up, and each one of those emails is something you need to address. What's worse is one of the people on one of the committees I'm a member of is ego-tripping and loves to fire off brain-dead emails full of bias and insults, and prefer to just send out emails without thinking first. FFFFFFFFF Anyway, for #FullAlbumFriday I needed something a bit more relaxing. While the systematic "buzz" from UVB-76 has been strangely soothing, it's probably not the best thing it get you by the day... especially when all it really consists of is buzzing and the rare encoded one-time-pad Russian messages about who knows what. I really just enjoy hanging out on the YouTube page for the chats, and for the occasional pirates that broadcast over the stream. It's kind of fun to see what will happen next. It's kinda hard to google "awesome piano song" or "that piano song that's like do do do do dodo" 😂. One day Google Music threw it in a random mix and I was like "OH SHIT, IT'S THE SONG!" and finally got closure about what the song was and who it was by. It blew my mind to see that Erik Satie was not actually a late 20th century composer at all. Erik's music was (in my worthless opinion) way ahead of it's time. It's very avant garde and dark. Not at all what I imagine most music from the late 1800s/early 1900s to sound like. The music is tense, but also oddly relaxing. There are lots of different renditions of the songs over the years, but it's this album by Johannes Cernota that I think plays them the best. #FullAlbumFriday #Classical #Satie
