A near - disaster! The iron in our home caught fire and almost burnt away the inner balcony. I was at work in the weekend and my wife had switched it on to iron a few clothes. She went to the bedroom to pick the clothes up and my mom walked past and screamed out that there was a fire. The iron and the ironing board were on fire and smoke was everywhere - quickly spreading. They had the presence of mind to turn off the main power and then doused the flames. Noone was hurt and nothing other than the iron was burnt. Thank God for the protection!
