1980s and 1990s saw a gazilion club style dance numbers that had a thumping beat and were fun numbers. They were not sleazy and you could dance to them even if you never knew how to dance. Some of the dance numbers had rubbish lyrics that meant nothing and repetitive syllables that made them fun to sing along with. There were also bands that came and went with one album and one hit wonders. https://youtu.be/Hy8kmNEo1i8 Scatman was one such artist who went iconic with this number but I could never figure out what happened to him after this.
