The other morning I spilt washing detergent on the floor ( https://noise.cash/post/l69q8v42 ). And today it was coffee beans. I poured out the coffee beans into the grinder and was about to seal the pouch when it slipped and fell and quite a bit of coffee beans spilt on the floor. What a waste. My heart wept literally at the spilt beans. I guess I took the phrase 'spilling the beans' to a different level - a much lower level!!
