Is Facebook snooping on me? Or is it the toy stores? Or is it the Taliban? It's all mixed up. I was scrolling through my facebook feed and, not surprisingly, there were several posts and links related to the events in Afghanistan. Pretty overwhelming to face the reality there right now. But what stopped me scrolling was a toy store ad from Hamleys. Of all the things, the store advertised a toy machine gun on Facebook right inbetwen those posts about Afghanistan and the Taliban! It felt eerie and I should have reported itto Facebook! Have you ever seen a weird Facebook ad that made you feel that someone was snooping digitally on you? PS: This post is written with a touch of sarcasm ad humor at the coincidence. As usual, readers are warned not to overthink and come to conclusions based on this.
