Do you still use rubber bands? I come across rubber bands in a lot of places. Today, I noticed that the bread loafwas sold in a plastic bag and the mouth of the bag was closed with a bright green rubber band. Some people even use this to tie their hair - although they can pull off some of your hair when you untie them! You can fix wire loops together. Their stretchability and elasticity is very handy! What do you use rubber bands for?
