How to be HER
Good day readcash fam! How's your day going? Mine isn't that productive because of the weather. It is still raining due to the low pressures in our area of responsibility but I'm still glad cause I have enough cuddle time woth my daughter.
I want you all to meet Zia. She came from a not so wealthy family. Her mother works as an office clerk while her father is a public servant. She is an only one child. Despite of being the only child in her family, she has also one cousin from her mother's side, let's call her Ana. They were friends, actually they treat each other as sisters. Ana is 5-year older than Zia but age doesn't matter in terms of their closeness. When Ana went to college, she was enrolled at one of the prestigious university in the country, she took up computer engineering. Oh, and by the way, Zia and Ana has 5 aunts who are still single and devoted theirselves to stay that way, they refused to have their own family and choose to support and help their nieces ( Ana and Zia ). Ana pursued her course until the third year, they had a qualifying exam to determine if they are ready and fit to be called fgraduating students next year. Unfortunately she just got a grade of 84.8 and the passing is 85. She was very disappointed at the same time ashamed of the result. It was so close but maybe that course isn't for her. With the result, she changed and shifted to another course. She took up a business related course. She started as first year irregular student, she was very eager to passed it because she thinks that she isn't going younger and she should get a job by her age that time.
On the other hand, Zia was in her last year in high school, the next year, she will attend college and wasn't still sure of the course she will be taking. The days and months flies fast, she was enrolled in a public university in their province. Not like Ana, she took up Bachelor in Secondary Education. Her aunties wasn't in favor of that. Zia tried to be good in school and she did. After four years of hardship, she graduated eith a flying color, a magna cumlaude. Her family was so proud of her all of them except her Aunties.
2 years laters, Ana got a job with a good salary considering that she stayed in the city while Zia got also a job but the salary wasn't good as Ana's. Regardless of that, they were still close friends and didn't feel any competition between them. Not until Zia got pregnant, she had a long time boyfriend. Her pregnancy wasn't good so dhe was forced to stop working for the sake of her and the baby.Though her partner supported her pregnancy, his salary isn't that enough. Zia tried to asked help from her Aunties hoping that they would her to have a laptop because she decided to do the work from home job. Unfortunately, she was rejected. Her Aunties turned their back on her. She has no choice but to save and sacrifice the budget for her vitamins and check ups to buy a laptop.
Ana jumped off to a higher salary job and eventually turned out to be a scam. Yes, she worked on a company that wasn't registered and do not have a legal papers and permits. She was depressed. She even got accused to be part of the illegalities of her work and have to pay a large amount of money. She asked help from their Aunties and fortunately she got their back at this moment. They helped her to solved her problem, spending thousands of money for her without hearning bad and hurting words from them.
While Zia got promoted by her job and paid higher salary received no any help from them. The only thing she received from them was hurtful words that describes how she is failure to the family, she always heard the line " You should be like Ana", " If it was Ana it was good ", " Ana is always good at everything" as if she didn't do any right. Zia questioned herself and always got the answer of " I will never be good enough for them, whatever I do, they will never appreciate me even when I reached my dreams". Later that night, she received a phone call from Ana asking if she can lend her some money. Without any hesitation, she send her the amount she was asking for.
1 week later, she received a videocall from her Aunties nagging about how stupid she was for choosing her job right now than used her degree and be a teacher. She, again heard the lines " You should do the same as Ana ". She got pissed and full of those and asked them, " How to be her? Can't I asked myself how to be me? ".
After that call, she received again nothing from her aunties but the silence. She realized that she is good enough for her and that she is contented with what she is and what she have right now.
Now, Zia has 3 kids and happily married with her loving husband. She is still close with her cousin Ana and have a cold treatment with her Aunties. She believed that the right time will come that they will realized her worth, not Ana but Her, ZIA's worth.
Maybe it is time to stop waiting for her auntie's to realize her worth. It would be great to cut ties with them as they are not good for her mental health.
