@ZoyaAnsari more from that month

I'm a warrior. I'm not one to give up easily, and the people around me know that part of myself. But some days, when no one is looking, I shed tears thinking about the battles that I can't seem to win. On the bus ride home or even when just walking in the busy streets, I'd look at the calluses on my hands and suddenly feel a hole in my chest. And at night, I cry to the stars realizing how the blisters on my feet hurt from walking. If this is how hard being a warrior needs to be, I'll take it. Armor, shield and sword, show me the wall and I'll break it. My only hope is that one day, when all is said and done, the people I fought for will be proud of the battles I've won. And for the ones I lost, my little wish to the stars is that I find it in me to let them go with an open heart and still be thankful for the scars. For the broken bones, the stitches. For making me realize that we don't need to win all battles in life—we just need to give it our best shot.
