Lesson learned. “It is so easy to break down and destroy. The heroes are those who make peace and build.” Nelson Mandela. What you do with your life after what's been done to you, is what makes you, you. The pain you’ve felt as the adult observer of your childhood is a reality of life, denial is no longer an option for you, the truth will not allow it now, once you have regained your eye sight back, you can’t pretend to be blind. Most people are afraid of the truth that lives within them, many are scared that other people will see their ugly hidden secrets. After the awakening of your soul you can’t go back to wearing masks to hide your inner pain or put on band-aids to cover up the scars that are left behind. I no longer need validation from my dysfunctional incest family or from others who know about my childhood and the price I’ve had to pay on this life-changing journey of self-discovery while searching to know even more truth, a truth that lived within my adult body all along, as my own suppressed childhood memories. It will take an inner strength many think they don’t possess to live in the bright light of your painful truth and make peace with your childhood past, but you do have it when you allow your inner child to have a voice, and become a friend and not an enemy, it is only then that the craziness of the past will stop with you, and your new adult life will begin.
