I'd like to take a minute & talk about RSD or Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria. RSD manifests in many ways but for me one of the major ways is that when something doesn't go as planned I question everything in my life & this can be a byproduct of an ADHD brain. An example using social media is that creating a post that gets declined or isn't recieved well can cause me to question my entire existence & this is a huge struggle to be on social media at all. In my brain the spiral of a simple rejection, like low 👍/❤ count is followed by thoughts like "Everything you post is trash" & "No one really like you it's just pity" & then further down the line "You should stop all together, it's pointless". Knowing this is an internal struggle with every post, knowing that algorithms will likely not push you, & knowing that you may get hateful comments makes it so that someone with RSD posts less frequently because in their head they are saying Can I afford to go down this rabbit hole today? So please if someone goes long periods without posting & you care about them reach out to say HEY, I MISS YOUR FACE! YOU ARE WORTH IT!...It may just be exactly what someone needs to hear. So here is my Monday motivation for you all. Hey, I miss y'alls faces & you are worth it. Smile & go get 'em!😉 #MentalHealth
