Spent the day packing & moving all my stuff to storage so tonight marks day one of my couch surfing adventures. This is the wonderful view of the river & our wacky neighbours to the south the USA. Everything seems so peaceful at night but let's see what tomorrow brings.

One of the joys of house sitting when you are homeless is getting to try out all the local restaurants in different places. While Coffee Culture isn't just limited to the local here it is one that is far & few between when every corner has a Tim Hortons instead. I absolutely love their Power-Up breakfast bagel (Egg, cheddar cheese, avocado, on a cheese bagel grilled), a cinnamon scone & a large black coffee.
The sun coming up over the building this morning made the ice breaking up look like a mosaic of a stained glass window. Soon the river will be ice free & the boats will be ripping up & down the water but till then I will enjoy the crackled look of the ice😁
What a beautiful sunset tonight over the river. Tomorrow is suppose to be a high of 18° & rain so we must enjoy the clear skies when we have them. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.
Almost got blown away this morning while walking the dog but managed to snag some pictures of the waves on the river. Not huge compared to out on the lake but for a river they are pretty large today. Wind gusts of up to 100km/hrs could quickly turn you into a kite 💨🪁 😆
Happy International Women's day to all the kickass women in my life & around the world. Remember to get out & support local women owned businesses today if you can. *Photo by Elina Fairytale from Pexels
Something about how the light was reflecting on the African Violet this morning just needed to be captured. The yellows, purples, & greens just seemed to stand out today.
I am officially boosted. Got my 3rd booster shot yesterday & had zero side effects this time, not even a headache like I got with the first 2 shots. Our province is saying they will be lifting the mask mandates near the end of the month but I will be one that will continue to wear one for the foreseeable future. Stay safe & stay vigilant🙃
Managed to snap a couple photos of the Algoma Intrepid on it's way back up to the lake after it turned around in the river. A little tug boat was floating along side of it also, but I really liked this picture of the bow of the ship showing the name. I have been told there is an app that shows you all the commercial maritime ships location so I will be downloading that so I can have my full size camera ready next time one of the ships comes in to load or turn around.
Someone has decided the best way to let me know he still exists is to rest his head on my laptop😆
Another clear evening, the light reflecting off the water stretchs right across the water from the opposite bank.
The ice was back today floating down from up river giving the birds a spot to sleep. These were the ones to lazy(or smart enough to know we weren't coming to get them) to swim away. I tried to get a photo of one very bright colored mallard but it took off as we got close enough to get the unobstructed shot.
We had fog roll in yesterday afternoon & have been under a fog watch since. The horns have been sounding to warn the ships all night but surprisingly that didn't stop me from actually getting a good night sleep for a change. While walking the dog this morning I was able to snap this picture of the fog up river towards the mouth of the lake & you can't even see the shipyard or the ships docked there. The sun has since come out & lifted the haze but it could return since we…
Red sky at night, sailor's delight Red sky in morning, sailors heed warning. This was a picture of the sunset tonight after all the fog cleared & if the old rhyme is to be believed then tomorrow should be a good weather day. Stay tuned to find out😁
I saw this fishing boat drifting in through the fog this morning & had to grab a shot because it just made me think of the movies when a ghost ship drifts in. The fog was so thick it was hard get the photo to distinguish shapes & colors but that was also kind of the point so I think this turned out ok.
The trails are a busy place today being the last day of March Break so we stopped for lunch at this bench under the streetlight to have a break & watch the water. I'm surprised the USA/Canada Bridge has so little traffic on it but I'm sure it will pick up later this afternoon.
Starting April 4th Coinbase is requiring it's Canadian users to 'snitch' on those that they are sending crypto to when the transactions are $1000 or greater. You will be required to provide the receivers name & address in order to process the transaction. What say you about this new regulation? Will it limit your interactions with Canadian Coinbase users in order to protect your own privacy?
