Perch Above Chickens will naturally look for a high place to roost at night. To avoid cold soil and evaporation of ammonia in chicken manure. Yeah It's their instinct, even before I had a chicken coop like this, my chickens perched on trees at night. For that I looked for a log so that my chickens could perch on the wood at night.
