The Life of Our National Hero. Why did Rizal say that there was no true civil liberty in the United States America? Rizal had good and bad impressions of the United States. The good impressions were: 1. The material progress of the country as shown in the great cities, huge farms, flourishing industries, and busy factories; 2. The drive and energy of the American people; 3. The natural beauty of the land: 4. The high standard of living and 5. The opportunities for better life offered to poor immigrants. One bad impression Rizal had of America was the lack of racial equality. There existed racial prejudice, which was inconsistent with the Principles of Democracy and Freedom of which the Americans talk so much but do not practice. Thus he wrote to Ponce: "They do not have true civil liberty. In some states the Negro cannot marry a white woman, or a white man a Negress. Thus America, said Rizal, 'is the land per excellence of freedom but only for the whites. However, America offers a place for the poor man who is willing to work." What were the primary reasons why Rizal left for London? Rizal chose England to be his new home for three reasons: 1. To improve his knowledge of the English language. 2. To study and annotate Morga's "Sucesos de las Filipinas." 3. London was a safe place for him to carry on his fight against Spanish tyranny. Why was Rizal interested in Morga's Book? Rizal spent many months copying the book, "Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas" by Antonio de Morga. Morga, who was once a Governor- General in the Philippines, had written about the life and customs of the Filipinos. But it contained some errors. Rizal wanted to publish this book of Morga again, with his annotations "I am now busy with Morga," wrote Rizal, I will copy the whole book and have a new one. Published for the Filipinos. I am doing this only for my country because the work will bring me neither honor nor money." While patiently copying for many months, Rizal at the same time corrected errors Morga had made. While in London, why did Rizal say that his happy days were over? The government in the Philippines wanted to punish him, but they could not reach him. So, they punished his relatives. One way of punishing them was to make their life hard. The lands of some of Rizal's brothers-in-law were taken away from them. Rizal found out that, because he was trying to help his countrymen, his parents and relatives were made to suffer. "My happy days," said Rizal "were over when I read the news that Hidalgo was exiled to Bohol. I am giving trouble to my family." Rizal became even more eager to work hard to help his unhappy people. While he was in London, How did Rizal spend his spare time? Rizal spent his spare time wisely while he was living in London. After reading and studying in the British Museum, he would go to the house of Antonio Ma. Regidor and tell him the new things he had learned about the Philippines. Sometimes Rizal would have interesting conversations with Dr. Rost who was a wise man, a librarian and a writer. Rizal also spent his spare time carving and painting. He carved Prometheus Bound, The Triumph of Death over Life, The Triumph of Science over Death, and the heads of the daughter of Charles Beckett. After annotating Morga's "Sucesos de las Islas Filipinas", what articles were written by Rizal in London? Rizal wrote articles for La Solidaridad. He wrote "Los Agricultores Filipinos" (The Filipino Farmers). In this initial article, he depicted the deplorable conditions in the Philippines, which cause the backwardness of the country. He further wrote "La Vision de Fray Rodriguez" (The Visions of Fray Rodriguez) which was published in Barcelona under his non-de plume Dimasalang, where Rizal demonstrated his profound knowledge of religion and his mastery of style in Satire. He also wrote the "Letter to the Young Women of Malolos." This was written through the request of Marcelo H. del Pilar to praise the young women of Malolos for their courage and determined effort to establish a school where they could learn Spanish.

Dahil dito, tinawag siyang "The Lioness of Filipino Guerilla Agents". Salamat!

What if you win millions of dollar? You are just an ordinary guy living a very boring life. You spend your day doing almost nothing except for eating and going anywhere you want. Eat, social medias, sleep and repeat. That's all your activities for every single day. One sunny day, the sky was bright and clear, you decided to go out and take a walk around, finally! You concluded to yourself that you need to have some light and fresh air in the morning. Upon walking, you stopped in a shady place to take a rest as you were exhausted for a simple tour. You decided to take a rest in that shade even for just an hour. You were about to lay down in a green grass and wanted to close your eyes for a nap, when something not so noticeable got your attention. You saw a cellophane containing some coins around 30 cents and inside a cellophane is also some piece of paper wrapped in another cellophane. You open it as you got so curious what it is and why does it looks like an important thing as it was wrapped inside. After opening it, you notice that there are 6 numbers in it, in a squared piece of paper, it was printed, accordingly 34 43 12 25 23 11 - it was a lottery ticket! You notice that the ticket will be drawn in the next day. So you look around if someone was looking for it. You waited for more than an hour....but no one came. Then you just went home taking the lottery ticket with you. When you have reached your house, you just simply put the ticket below your television and then directly head straight to your room to surf the internet. Then you just spent your time again facing your smartphone till afternoon.... then night came... until you fall asleep. And you didn't even take your dinner! The next day came when the ticket should be drawn, but you have almost forgotten about the ticket. As usual, you want to spend again your day doing nothing. That day, all you did was to sleep... sleep... and sleep! You woke up exactly when night falls, then you heard your mother shout very loud that it looks like something very bad happen. You quickly got up and went to your mother. Then you saw her with her eyes almost gouging out, facing the television, holding a piece of paper. You heard it exactly.... **$23 million!** You can't believe it! You are now rich! The next day, you claim your prize started to make use of it.
