Egg waffle
Egg waffle or kwek kwek in Tagalog is one of the most famous street foods in the Philippines. It it made of quail eggs coated with orange batter. It is best served with sweet sauce or vinegar sauce with onion and chili.
Heres the procedure on how to make egg waffle. For the Egg Waffle: Ingredients : Quail eggs All purpose flour Orange food coloring Salt and pepper to taste Water Cooking oil Procedure: Wash and boil the quail egg for about 5 minutes. Let it cool and set aside Once it is cool, peel it off. Make sure that you peel it well Mix all the dry ingredients ( APF, salt and pepper and then add water. If you achieved the right consistency of the batter you can now coat the quail eggs. Gently coat the quail eggs with the batter. Prepare a pan and pre heat cooking oil. Once it ready put the coated quail eggs and wait until its cooked. Set aside to drain the oil. For the sauce: Ingredients : All purpose flour Soy sauce Sugar Vinegar Garlic Salt and pepper Water Onion Procedure : For Sweet Sauce. Mix the sugar, soysauce , salt, pepper and APF and cook with a low fire until you achieved your desired thickness of the sauce For Vinegar : Mix Vinegar, Sugar, Salt and pepper, Onion.
