With this post I would like to contribute to the #photochallenge37 contest organised by @FriendlyMoose. Today I am going to do a post about the botanical field, I want to introduce you to the juniper (Juniperus phoeniciae) a tree that grows in the Mediterranean and in the Balearic Islands enjoys a high level of protection. Its wood is highly valued for its extraordinary hardness and was used in the traditional constructions of the islands. Thanks to protection, juniper forests are recovering, as they had been on the verge of extinction. In the image you can see a specimen of juniper located in the dunes in the south of the island of Ibiza.
