In the island of Ibiza there is one industry that has endured over the centuries, and that is the salt industry. Exploited since Roman times, the salt mines of Ibiza have been the island's only source of income for hundreds of years, although it is true that in the times before tourism, small quantities of fish were exported, but compared to salt, these were insignificant. This aerial photograph was taken on the approach for landing at the airport during the salt harvesting phase, which runs from October to December. All the images I publish are made by me.
