In Ibiza there is not only tourism, we have an ancestral industry since Roman times, which is the production of salt. In the aerial image you can see the salt ponds that produce some 90,000 tons of salt a year. The beach in the foreground is the most popular with visitors in summer, and is popularly known as Playa de Las Salinas, although for Ibicenco people and in the local language it is Platja de Mitjorn.
