Vaccine News!
Weeks after the initial application to the FDA, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is set to be approved on Thursday, December 10. If approved, the vaccine will be able to be administered on the 11th, hopefully marking the beginning of the end of the COVID crisis. However, despite this good news, many criticized the FDA's slow response time. The UK's equivalent to the FDA had already approved the same vaccine last Wednesday (December 2) and both Russia and China have already made huge leaps in the delivery of vaccines. China, for example, has already administered about 1 million vaccines. Of course, it is very important that the FDA gets this right so that it would be safe for the 100s of millions of people expected to receive the shot. Speaking of which, as expected, frontline healthcare workers and their families will be given the highest priority as far as getting vaccinated goes. The everyday person won't get access to it until about April or so.
Last week, the markets reacted well to the positive news of the vaccine in UK so there is the hope that that bull run will continue this week. Air BnB's IPO will hit markets this Thursday so keep your eyes peels for ABNB. It's predicted to trade between 56 and 60 dollars.
How to use bitcoin cash
As you know, read.cash pays in bitcoin cash, not USD. As a result, the amount of USD in your account may fluctuate from day to day. You can then withdraw your money into an external wallet such as local bitcoin. However, how and what can you buy with your newly acquired BCH (bitcoin cash)? https://local.bitcoin.com/r/thinkingred
Firstly you can exchange your BCH for USD from another website such as local bitcoin or CoinBase. At local bitcoin, you will exchange it using peer-to-peer methods meaning another person will directly buy your BCH from you, usually below market value. This means you may be, in a way, be shorted USD. Depending on the method they pay you, they might pay you above or below value though, so just watch for the selling prices. Also, since it is peer-to-peer local bitcoin will be sort of stubborn if someone cheats you out of money and local bitcoin cannot return your money/BCH. So watch out for scammers and make sure the people look legit before selling. Also, some buyers have minimums so if you're only earning a few dollars here and there, it may take a very long time to accumulate enough money to get USD.
CoinBase is different since there is more insurance. It's more like buying/sell BCH from a stock exchange. As an added bonus, you can earn free crypto by reading its articles about smaller crypto currencies. However, if your goal is to get USD, you'll most likely need to turn those smaller currencies into a different, larger/better know currency first.
Alternatively, you can buy gift cards which can be redeemed in stores. I personally used https://www.egifter.com/. On eGifter, I paid via my wallet on electron-cash. Basically, I downloaded electron-cash onto my computer and then linked it up to my read.cash's wallet and then bam! It's ready to make purchases. I tried it out on my other account (which had more money) and it worked. I got a Barnes and Nobles gift card and redeemed it on the online store.
Finally, you can buy some products directly via BCH. Local bitcoin has a section where you can directly buy products. Microsoft accepts BCH as payment as does the European food delivery service TakeAway.
So, while BCH and crypto in general are great investments, for those of you out there who'd prefer to stick with fiat currencies, hopefully, now you feel safer using BCH now that you know that it's pretty easy to go between it and USD. :)

Airbnb and Doordash to Hit the Stock Market (And other news)
Today is November 17, exactly 1 year after the first reported case of Covid-19 in China. Since then, our panicking mindset has somewhat calmed down and it seems that people are starting to return to their old habits. Among those habits is traveling. Airbnb reported $1.3 billion net earning this past quarter and a $219 million dollars in profit. While this is down from last year's $1.6 billion net, it is good news after coming back from being down 72% in the second quarter. Airbnb is also doing much better than its peers in the travel industry. I mean Boeing has yet to recover from its massive slip from nearly $400 per share and its currently down to under $200 (at time of writing this). But now for some news about the highly anticipated Airbnb IBO.
They'll be trading on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ABNB
They have not released the price share range or how many total shares
They are four types of shars
Class A = 1 vote per share
Class B = 20 votes per shares
Class C = no votes
Class H = no votes, for endowments
There will definitely be 9.2 million shares of Class H common shares.
Endowments will be used for educational aid and emergency aid
Will go into effect with the total value of the shares reach $1 billion
It will be a traditional IPO
It's expected to be available in December
It's important to note that while many people do enjoy looking out for IBO as a buy-low-sell-high trading opportunity, it doesn't always work out. Just look at what happened with Uber in 2019.
Doordash, too, is getting ready to hit the market so be share to look out for the food delivery service as well. Doordash's growth, unlike airbnb, as accelerated due to covid. Here's what we know about the equally anticipated Doordash IBO.
They'll be trading on NYSE under the ticker symbol DASH
Co-founders Xu, Stanley Tang, and Andrew Fang will split all the Class B shares
Xu =14.9 million shares
Andrew Fang = 13.5 million shares,
Stanley Tang =13.4 million shares
Tripled income this year
It will be a traditional IPO
It's expected to be available in the fourth quarter
Watch Out For These 3 Social Media Apps
Parler Games
In brief, Parler Games is twitter for conservatives. More specifically, with significantly lower moderation against controversial and offensive content, it had (somewhat unintentionally) become a breeding ground for racist and conspiracy theories. While there is a way to a way for individuals to flag inappropriate posts, the allowance for an almost-anything-goes form of free speech has led to extremist behavior.
Houseparty
Houseparty is basically a general social media app for group chatting so sort of like TikTok with FaceTime and snapchat. Unfortunately it's quite buggy and not compatible with anything but Apple products. If they fix those bugs though, it's nice to keep in mind that they do have more than 20 million users to tap into.
Steemit
Now, this app may be a bit odd to but here, as it's likely a competitor for this site but Steemit is like a reddit version of read.cash. The down side of that website though, is that despite having over 1 million users, it uses that cryptocurrency Steem (hence the name) as payment for good posts. Steel is current valued at 25 cents per coin, having taking a huge hit in 2018, going from 40 dollars to its current value. Even so, as cryptocurrency seems like it's back on the rise, maybe take a look into Steemit.
