Beljarica: Complete wilderness on the outskirts of Belgrade Beljarica is rightly called the Belgrade Amazon. This area covers an area of about 20 square kilometers on the left bank of the Danube. Beljarica is home to many plant species, insects, fish and birds. The diversity of the fish stock consists of over 100 different species of fish. However, what this area is richest in are the species of birds for which it is home or a seasonal nesting place. Out of almost 150 bird species for which Beljarica is a temporary or permanent home, as many as 108 belong to the list of protected and endangered species.
