For some mountaineers, only the numbers matter. Altitude of the summit, mileage of the trail, meters of ascent. As much as better. I have a friend like that. A few years ago, he changed that custom of just counting meters. He recently admitted to me that some of the trips with me had a key impact on changing his priorities.
