BANTAYOG Festival Hello, Noisey world! Mukhang bumalik na ang dating sigla dito, guys? Ano’ng meron? (It seems that the former enthusiasm is back in this platform already? What’s up, guys?) Well, it’s good to be back in here after a series of wandering elsewhere for some time. I’m just motivated by the new eagerness that I observed among you. Anyway, it’s the beginning of another month and just as a fitting occasion to restart anew. Moreover, I would like to share with you the festive mood that the residents of Camarines Norte have been celebrating with their month-long feast called the “Bantayog Festival.” It is a double annual celebration of the founding anniversary of the Camarines Norte as an independent province in conjunction with the commemoration of our national hero Dr. Jose Rízal and the local fallen heroes of the tragic Daet (capital of Camarines Norte) revolt in 1898 of April. In 1996 the locals eventually erected the first historic monument (Bantayog) in honor of Dr. José Rizal which thereby becomes the centerpiece and symbol of the said festivities.
