My Clique This is me just thinking out loud in the form of an article. In life, it's important to have good support systems. Who is a support system? A support system is that person or set of persons that are there for you, that knows you, that advise you, that encourages you, that criticize you, that have your back no matter what. **A support system is a friend.** While growing up, I had a lot of friends. We play ten ten, we build mud houses, we cook with cans lol, we play football too. Then all i wanted to do was play but as a young teen, things began to change. We weren't the consistent players anymore. It got to a point where we lost interest totally. The feeling of being a big girl started settling in. The bars of friendship went higher. Division was the next stage with two options; You either be in trending class or be labelled a local champion. Distance was the last straw. Some of us relocated to another place and some totally from the state. I just discovered I've been smiling trying to summarize my childhood. I am friends did lots of fun things that I can't forget ever. Well during that time, I had my own fair share of disappointment. Fair share of pain by the one you care for a lot. **A friend.** I really loved her. She was more like a sister to me. We do everything together and at a point we were labelled as a twin. The only thing that we didn't do together is sleep in same roof. Our bond seemed inseparable, **but then life happened**. It started when her family had to relocate back to their hometown. I was hurt deeply and when they finally left I cried so much. I couldn't go to school, I felt lonely, and I slumped into a moody girl. My mum got scared for me. I remembered she was of the opinion of bringing bestie over.I was very happy when I heard the news and **felt like flying without wings** when I received a call from my bestie same day. We kept in touch all through, and every day I wished to see her again. Long story short, she came back but never told me. She kept visiting all our friends, but never came by my place. What hurt so much was that we talk every day all the while she was back but she kept telling me I'd see her soon.It was after 8 months of her arrival that I someone told me. I felt like a stupid person, I felt betrayed. She came by a week after my discovery and was telling me that she wanted to surprise me. She changed and was sounding indifferent. **I needed no one to tell me that the friendship was over.** I promised myself that I will never give anyone such access to hurt me again. I became uptight. A lot of acquaintances but no friends. I was better off without them. I was enjoying my own company to an extent I started finding it difficult to go out with people. To be sincere I don't regret this as it made me realize a lot about myself. This is the best life I thought, but it isn't. Everyone needs a support system There's an opportunity to enjoy even more. You might have gone through the worst experience than I have but the ability to go through **an experience and coming out strong with an open mind to try again makes one a champion .** It's good to take a break for a while in order to take note of errors made, forgive and heal but don't do that for too long missing out on other great people that'll come our way. Having an open mind is very important. So we don't go judging people based on what we've seen, or experienced earlier. **Give everyone a chance.** The benefit of the doubt and who knows, you'd meet people that'll wow you. Looking at myself with my new friends chilling and have fun, I thank God that I didn't remain in isolation. Good people still exists. Have an open mind and you'd find them Thanks for reading!
