Valley of Love A breathtaking wonder of nature: Enjoy the fairy chimneys in the Valley of Love In the Goreme National Park in Turkey, there is a miracle of nature, which simply leaves you breathless When someone mentions Turkey, you probably think of Istanbul first. And when someone mentions the province of Cappadocia to you, the vast majority of you remember the beautiful images of the sky filled with balloons However, in the mentioned Cappadocia, more precisely in the Goreme National Park , there is one wonder of nature, which simply leaves you breathless. It is about the formation of rocks , and when a man sees them, he has no choice but to admire once again what only nature can create. Fairy chimneys are located in the Valley of Love , and were formed more than 30 million years ago after the eruptions of once active volcanoes that are now mountains. The Valley of Love stretches for a total of 4 kilometers, and these rocks are between 15 and 20 meters high. Many are in groups, so sometimes it seems as if a pair of "chimneys" have grown together. Of course, we didn’t mention balloons at first for the sake of order. Once you’re here, board one of them and enjoy the magnificent view, and unti One of the fairy chimneys that has a rather interesting legend is the one found in Cappadocia. This tells the legend in which the region was inhabited by men and fairies, hence its name. Legend has it that either of the two types, mixed alliances are forbidden. This was a regulation that was not respected in all its glory. One man and one day they fell in love so deeply that they could no longer give up their feelings or hide them. So the fairy queen decided to adopt a drastic solution. The solution was to turn all the fairies who fell in love with pigeons. This is how I deprive men of the ability to see them forever. The only hope left for the man was to stay with the pigeons taking care of his fairy In Spain, we can find several fairy chimneys in the Ebro Valley, especially in the Aragonese region of Cinco Villas. They are also found in the Aragonese region of Alto Gállego, in a place called Señoritas de Arás; in the Campo de Daroca region, in Biescas; and in the desert of Bárdenas Reales, in Castildetierra. To get to know the fairy chimneys we have to analyze long walks, but it is worth getting to know them. Many people go hiking and take the opportunity to spend the whole day surrounded by nature and in a place near these famous geological formations. Geology is a science that is not only responsible for studying the past and geological formations that occurred in other times, but also for studying the events that are happening today and that continue to emerge and transform relief from day to day. Rains are one of the main agents in charge of transforming the landscape. Rain is capable of creating continuous erosion that transforms the landscape as we know it. The fact that landscapes are transforming and eroding means that these particular geological forms can be formed. Fairy chimneys are formed from a combination of many raindrops that make up a constant flow of water. This constant flow of water is maintained for a short time. When small watercourses are formed due to surface runoff, they descend along the entire slope and leave traces in them. These grooves are called drains. According to the pronunciation of the ravine and the nature of the terrain and slopes can create fairy chimneys. In order to create fairy chimneys, soft soil is needed, that surface runoff creates deep ravines, and that this runoff is often maintained over time. It must be said that these individual forms occur more frequently in inconsistent materials. To have greater precision of places where you can create a fairy fireplace, you need to go to sandy places that are protected at the top by the hardest rocks. In this way, water is eroded in the lower part of the land, and not in the upper part. The runoff water is responsible for pulling the material from the sides and as a result increasingly elongated cylindrical shapes are produced. These geomorphological forms are ultimately similar to the chimneys of Seg pegs. If we analyze a little, we can see that this morphology is usually only a few centimeters. A few quartzite pebbles are usually found at the top of the fairy chimneys. Quartzite is a fairly hard mineral. This leads us to erosion at the top and can form a fairy chimney. Not only does rain play a key role in the formation of fairy chimneys. Wind is also an erosive agent that greatly affects these geomorphological formations. We will analyze the most personal structures several meters long and having different tones in the rock. These formations are the product of various materials that have settled in the rock during erosion. In other words, as the soil formed as a result of sediment deposition, wind had a strong importance. As you can see, these formations have an interesting history behind them and a unique origin. I hope you will learn more about fairy chimneys with this information.
