My parents have always loved going on narrowboats, and we have had many family holidays and days out on and around the canals. This picture is from October 2010. In more recent years my parents haven't been able to manage a canal boat so well, but we all have many fond memories of our time on the canals.

Wow that a Tight fit how far could you go and such as skinny canal I guess it was just short distance where the canal wasn’t very wide there must’ve been a place to Turn around eventually.
You can cover quite a lot of the country on the canals, but yes that was just a short narrow section. There are turning circles quite often but that boat is 75 feet long!
Wow 75 feet long what are they called train boats. it would have to be a straight canal for a long time and I guess when it gets to the very end the back becomes the front?
It's called a narrow boat, only 6ft wide! The canals are quite straight with some bends. But it's not reversible where the back becomes the front, you have to turn it around when you want to go back! I can drive one, they only go slow like 4 mph, but I hate turning it around!
