How to Get Noticed Online When You Are a New Entrepreneur

I've had the privilege of being able to work online for a long time. It wasn't until recently that I chose to work from home full-time.  One of the biggest struggles for so many who are just starting as a work from a home parent is being able to stand out in the online world. Believe me, when I tell you, you are not alone.  At the beginning of it all, you find yourself wondering how to get noticed online when you don't have a huge following on your Facebook business page, very few views on your videos, or likes on your posts.  Over the years, I never found myself concerned with standing out in the crowd. I guess for the most part it was because I just kept going because I loved what I was doing. I was blogging about my life, I was doing things others were not like creating stories around business sponsors who were loving it. I took a risk and it paid off. I was getting more paid sponsors than I could have ever imagined.  I was also bringing to life new stories that had my little group of followers loving it and wanting to read more of that story even after the sponsors I had moved on.  Then, my life turned a different direction and I went back to work in the real world. I was still part-timing it with working online, but I started to notice a drop in sponsors and my followers because of that path.  I started researching the tricks of the trade for social media and saw a small increase in followers again. But here more recently I have noticed a few friends who are still trying to get noticed with their online businesses. I know the feeling! I'm still right there with you on some days!  And then there are days when I know I'm killing it online because of how I chose to focus on the positive. I stopped listening to the negative and decided I have a business I'm doing great, I'm successful, even on days when everything feels like it's going straight down the potty.  I stay positive because I have a mission, I have a goal, I have a dream and I want to share with others that positive spirit, to show them they are not alone! And guess what? It's working!  You and I are never alone in this humongous world of online entrepreneurs, but we can and will crush it with a positive mindset. We are in control of our destiny, my friends!  We can take all of those tricks of the trade, but without that positive mind frame, we are, well, pretty much screwed! Sure we might be successful for a bit, but it won't last. So what else can you do to get your online presence noticed? Well first and foremost, it will never matter how many likes, how many video views, or how many social media followers you have if you don't know your potential customers, your followers on a personal level. If you don't care about them, except when you need them, why should they care about and need you? Bring your people with you. Show them you care. If you only have a few followers, acknowledge them. They are there for a reason.  I know life gets busy, but if you take the time out to appreciate your followers, your fans, they will notice and appreciate you back! Make them matter! Respond to their comments on your Facebook page, respond to their private messages to you, ask how their day is going, how their family is doing. Surprise them with a note out of the blue. Thank them for being a part of your entrepreneurial life! Your next step?  focus, focus focus. I don't know how many times this has been so hard to do because of my ADHD, but I have to keep doing this, or I know I will lose sight of my ultimate goal, my dream, my destiny.  About a month ago while I was doing some research, I ran across an idea that other entrepreneurs were excited about. They were putting graphics on t-shirts and making a big buck, so I thought, "hey let me check this out, maybe I can add designing t-shirts to my list." I was willing to step away from my focus and start another project. I was starting to lose sight of my original goal. Luckily, I realized that wasn't where I wanted to go, and put that idea on the back burner.  I also put a lot of other ideas and projects on the back burner, like my Facebook live coffee table makeover, Instagram story posts, Pinterest SEO posts, CBD products, and even my art because I realized I was getting overwhelmed with too many pickles on my plate, and I'm pretty sure my audience was as overwhelmed as I was with all of my project posts!  Now that doesn't mean put all of your eggs, your income into one basket because if you do, you are limiting your income.  You just want to make sure you are focused on your goal by being consistent with every little thing you do. Do it consistently because just like a job in the real world, it's a must unless you don't want to get paid!  Next, find your inspiration. There is power in being inspired. Most of you know one of my biggest inspirations in the entrepreneurial business world is Richard Branson. Another inspiration is Sophia Vergara, so much in fact that I emailed her business and asked about being a part of it. The result? They loved the idea!  Find your inspiration and even reach out to them, because you just never know the power you can wield with your own online business when you feel inspired!  Finally, keep it real. You've got stories? Then, by all means, tell them, but keep it real. Tell your story. Your followers want to be able to relate. They want to know they are not alone. They want to know that you are not perfect, that we all make mistakes, we are all human. Don't just simply tell your story, however. Tell your past, your present, and even your future. It doesn't matter if you screwed up. It doesn't matter if you don't know what will happen at that moment because you weren't quite ready. What matters is your fans will love it. But don't stop there. Share your triumphs as well. Give your audience their inspiration through you, your own story! Motivate the heck out of them! After all, who doesn't want help in knowing how to work online successfully, especially when it is a similar scenario your followers are experiencing themselves.  *Until next time my lovelies, keep moving forward and crushing your entrepreneurs goals.*
