This Goes Out To The UNDERDOG **Saturday, 19th March**
Alright guys... I know I said upon my next article I would expound on a very beautiful quote I wrote on my previous piece but before I get to expounding I would like to "say" two things first.
Firstly, I would like to usher you into your bright weekend and hopefully you have a wonderful one starting today of course. Personally, I wouldn't say I've got plans for the weekend seeing as I'm such a "homebody" or will I say "couch potato" but whichever it is, I'm more of that so like I said no plans whatsoever but as for those of you who have mighty big plans for the weekend I wish you all the best! Before I jump right in to expounding, I mean I did say I had two things, right? Yeah I did say that. So, the other is I would like to share the lyrics to a song that's been stuck in my head all morning. It's ***Underdog by Alicia Keys***. I gotta say that each time I listen to that song I just get this boost of confidence and motivation, you know. It helps me feel like it's okay to be where I'm at in my life right now and that if I keep doing the work diligently well, with time things will change for the better.
*Here's goes nothing...* **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **She was walking in the street, looked up and noticed** **He was nameless, he was homeless** **She asked him his name and told him what hers was** **He gave her a story 'bout a life** **With a glint in his eye and a corner of a smile** **One conversation, a simple moment** **The things that change us if we notice** **When we look up, sometimes** **They said I would never make it** **But I was built to break the mold** **The only dream that I've been chasing is my own** **So I sing a song for the hustlers trading at the bus stop** **Single mothers waiting on a check to come** **Young teachers, student doctors** **Sons on the frontline knowing they don't get to run** **This goes out to the underdog** **Keep on keeping at what you love** **You'll find that someday soon enough** **You will rise up, rise up, yeah** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Ooh, ooh, ooh**
**She's riding in a taxi back to the kitchen** **Talking to the driver 'bout his wife and his children** **On the run from a country where they put you in prison** **For being a woman and speaking your mind** **She looked in his eyes in the mirror and he smiled** **One conversation, a single moment** **The things that change us if we notice** **When we look up, sometimes** **They said I would never make it** **But I was built to break the mold** **The only dream that I've been chasing is my own** **So I sing a song for the hustlers trading at the bus stop** **Single mothers waiting on a check to come** **Young teachers, student doctors** **Sons on the frontline knowing they don't get to run** **This goes out to the underdog** **Keep on keeping at what you love** **You'll find that someday soon enough** **You will rise up, rise up, yeah** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Everybody rise up** **You gonna rise up, ay** **I sing a song for the hustlers trading at the bus stop** **Single mothers waiting on a check to come** **Young teachers, student doctors** **Sons on the frontline knowing they don't get to run** **This goes out to the underdog** **Keep on keeping at what you love** **You'll find that someday soon enough** **You will rise up, rise up, yeah** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** **Ooh, ooh, ooh** Damn! It's been a while since I posted lyrics... feels good posting it now though. Let me ask, after reading that don't you just feel this sudden boost of motivation, sort of like taking an energy drink you know cause I know I feel it. It's everything!!! I definitely fancy myself an **UNDERDOG**. You might ask, what even is am underdog? Well, allow me to answer...
It means a competitor thought to have little chance of winning a fight or contest. Kinda like someone who had little to no chance at all. The odds are stacked against them. Some would even say they are the "weaker party" even. But the amazing thing about being underdogs is that even though the odds are against them, they don't stop fighting. They don't give up the challenge or give in to the pressure. Instead, they give it all they've got and they do it with diligence, grace and pride. They are not always intimidated by the "bigger dogs," neither do they always shy away when the going gets tough. They charge in and give it their very best and with time they always rise up and dominate. They're nothing short of warriors! Fascinating, isn't it? I stan Underdogs!
Anyhow, I think I'm done for the day. I hope I'm not forgetting to say any other thing else. (My two cents is telling me that I'm not forgetting to say something but I can't really shake that feeling you get when something ain't right. Oh well, it's whatever I guess). On that note, I bid you a fantabulous weekend and you go good, okay?! Toodles!!

I am also a homebody and an underdog :) I think it's how most people win, seeing themselves as underdogs and just work silently and they would just surprise others when they succeed one day. I think am talking too much to be an underdog😂 but seriously, this gave me a knock. Have a fantastic weekend too TA :)
Such a energy boosting article my friend....I am also a underdog....have a nice weekend
I love this song. To all fellow underdogs out there, I wish for us all winnings and success in our ventures
