Judgemental ***It is only he that wears the shoe, that knows where it pinches -*** Nigerian Proverb Lately, my appeal to read.cash seem to be off lately. I still try to come online a few times a day to read articles, but that has been reducing too. The situation is even worse on hive, where I've been absent for days. This is exceptionally bad for me, as I'm still really new to hive and I should be building the account almost the same way as I ought to be building my account here on read. The reason for this, I really can't put my hand on. It could be as a result of my emotional state or the almost non-existent presence of the random rewarder on my articles these day, but either way, I really have to get over or around whatever it is.. Considering lately I've been talking about how I want to do better, you might want to say I'm just lazy or I'm giving excuses, but trust me, that's not the case. This is a common example of the theme of my article today. We as humans tend to judge other people's actions from our own point of view, our perspectives. I'm not saying this is bad, but it's quite defective in a manner of speaking. To understand my position on the subject, we have to first of all come to the knowledge that we all grew up under different circumstances, tutelage, principles, rules and society. We all had peer groups growing up but the composition isn't the same. As adults, we surround ourselves with friends, but this is different for each person. All of this sums up the kind of person one becomes and the way we think and since no two person had it all quite the same, no two person see things the same way. How we process things, reason and judge things is largely dependent on the psychology of our mind acquired over the years through the different formative stages. So, while someone may see something as okay, you might disagree. An example of this is a situation where two guys are standing above and below a sign. To the guy above, the sign is reading six, while to the one below, the sign is reading nine. Interestingly, depending on which side you look at it from, both of them are correct. Likewise in life, you look at the actions of people and you are confused how they can possibly act the way they do, but you're only confused because you're looking at it from your own perspective. A full understanding of why they do things the way they do would require you to look at it from their own perspective. We all abhor crime and violent behaviors and most at times, we judge people who resort to these. I'm not trying to make a case for any of these groups, especially those who are violent towards women and children, but if you took some time to ask them and look at things from where they see it, you might not detest them so much for it. Same way, you probably won't call my recent attitude on read.cash lazy, if I could divulge some personal details. A guy walks into an office building and shoots a business tycoon to death. The death of this business tycoon one way or the other leads to the halting of several projects, results in job and economic losses. Naturally, everyone will clamour for his head. But that's because you don't know the whole story, hence you aren't seeing things the way he is. How about when you come to the knowledge that the project that's been halted, causing job and economic losses is been sited on a land that belongs to this guy's family. They refused to let go for it and they were silently wiped off the face of the earth to make way for the project. Would you still clamour for his head?? **What Am I Driving At??** My whole point is this. More than half the time, we have none to little idea on matters we make definitive assertions about. We make assertions on the little we know and pass judgement on people and their actions from our own perspectives, whereas if we would just be a little less judgemental and ask questions, we would realise we knew little to nothing and will probably see reason and logic in what the person has done looking at it from his perspective. I'm going to say this again, I'm not excusing any social vice or evil, but like it is said in one of the proverbs we tend to grow up with in Nigeria, '*It is only he that wears the shoe, that knows where it pinches'* Take it or leave it, most of the time, if put in the same circumstances as the person you're passing judgement on, you will do same or even worse. Even if you will do better, it still doesn't give you the right to be so judgemental on the person. The fact that you were lucky to be raised in a setting that made you a certain way, doesn't mean everyone got the same treatment or upbringing. *****Be Less Judgemental.....*****

Just be consistent and for sure the random rewarder will come back to visit you again.
Yea... I'm hoping so
So true. It's just like the current state of our religiousity, where we passed judgement quickly via a slight manner of someone. It is isn't supposed to be so. I used to condemn People during my early days in church but I stopped that for a long time. If we get closer to these people we judge or look down on because of their approach, we'd see that they are clean as water and better than some of us that judges
That's right
hmm. I see a lot of reasoning in here. Just like you said never judge anyone. We all are surviving and living by God's mercy. Ni one is indeed perfect
And as such we shouldn't expect it from anyone
