Not A Great Day Hello fellas, hope you've had a great day, cos I haven't. Today just happened to be one of those days when everything just seem to not be working for me. Actually, since I started this whole FPT thing, my days have been quite somehow, so unpredictable and full of unexpected. I actually woke up exceedingly early today hoping to get the seat of my choice in the vehicle, but even waking up as early as I did turned out to not be enough as some people still beat me to the seat I so badly covet. That was the beginning of what would turn out to be a day I would rather not have had. The state of Lagos in Nigeria is notorious for one thing; the exceedingly bad traffic situation. It makes me wonder how people actually live in this state. Due to the traffic situation, we made arrangements to be leaving the lodge as early as 5:00AM, just so we can make our first class which is usually around 9-10AM. But recently, other members of the group tend to flagrantly disregard the set time and this has been setting us back minutes by getting us caught in traffic jams that we could have avoided. But today was the height of it, as some members came to the vehicle as late as one hour after the stipulated time. The consequences was unprecedented, at least for those of us who wanted to make the class and avoid traffic jam. Due to this lateness and the fact that today was the first day of the week, we got caught in a serious traffic jam. We spent over three hours trying to navigate and get out of it. It was really annoying considering it could have easily been avoided if those lazy members had come out earlier. The whole incident really messed up my mood for the day as I was really tired and angry after the whole debacle. As if that wasn't bad enough, our instructor at the research facility had us walking almost aimlessly from one department to the other. As much as I was in disagreement with such disorganization, there wasn't really anything I could do, as she easily has the power to make me fail the whole thing and she's always made a point of letting us know that. Trust me when I say the instructor is actually a nice person, but she can sometimes seem bipolar. The height of my misery today came when our driver didn't show up to pick us after we closed. We tried reaching him, his phone was dead. His no-show simply meant that we had to walk an unreasonably far distance just to get vehicles that were plying the route to the lodge. After the trekking, we still had to use at least two buses and one tricycle before we could get home. We also incurred extra cost as all the vehicles had hiked their prices due to higher demand associated with the time of close of work here in Lagos. I didn't like it, but we had no choice. Due to the fact that we got caught in the evening rush, we spent another three+ hours trying to get home. By the time i got home, i was really wasted and broken. But for @Mhizutty, I would have gone to bed hungry and angry as I was too tired and stressed to cook. Since then I've been resting, after which I decided to type an article but couldn't come up with something, hence my sharing my day with you. Tomorrow is another day and we go again. I really hope everything's kind to me tomorrow. ***Thanks for always finding time to read my rants and articles. I really appreciate it..***
