This image is of the physician Leonid Rogozhov, who performed his own surgery. He suffered severe abdominal pain during a Russian expedition to Antarctica in April 1971, after which he was diagnosed with appendicitis. Which had no choice but to undergo surgery. So he got back on their plane. And he was the only doctor among the participants in that expedition. So he decided to have his own surgery.He performed the surgery with the help of an engineer and a meteorologist. He was able to complete his surgery properly in an effort of 1 hour and 45 minutes
